02 / The record

Journey through time

Their own record, stamp for stamp, in the DD-MM-YYYY form their page prints. The chamber publishes no founding date for itself: what it dates is the body it grew out of, and the day New Zealand was written into the name.

  1. 197421-09-1974

Establishment of the Australian Business Group (ABG)

The Australian - New Zealand Chamber of Commerce (Philippines) Inc. evolved out of the ABG, by the Australian Senior Trade Commissioner that time, Bill Brigstocke. This marked the foundation of a dynamic chamber dedicated to fostering international business relations.

  2. 198119-11-1981

Interest in forming the ABG into a Chamber of Commerce

  3. 198201-12-1982

Start of the full time Secretariat

In the inaugural year, the Board of Directors made a pivotal decision to establish a Full-Time Secretariat. This marked a significant step in enhancing services to members, disseminating information, providing central liaison for member contacts and questions, and improving overall chamber administration.

  4. 198231-12-1982

The first report of the Board of Directors

The report highlighted the crucial role the Board envisioned for the Chamber in promoting members and their interests to the government of the day. This commitment laid the foundation for the Chamber’s advocacy and support initiatives.

  5. 198621-09-1986

Inclusion of the New Zealand in the Chamber

The Board of Directors crafted the ANZCHAM Mission statement, defining the organization’s purpose. This marked a significant expansion of our reach and impact.

To be a highly effective organization that visibly supports and promotes business relationships between Australia, New Zealand, and the Philippines.

The mission statement the Board wrote on the day New Zealand was included, quoted by their own entry for 21-09-1986. Read it on anzcham.com.

03 / Principles

Four value drivers

Published as a numbered set of four, in this order.

  1. Share knowledge and insights.
  2. Multiply business connections.
  3. Strengthen partnership with government bodies.
  4. Give back to the community through our sustainable strategy.

Our aim is to be a vibrant, diverse, and connected business community that drives sustainable economic prosperity across Australia, New Zealand, and the Philippines.

04 / The Board

Meet our Board

Eleven directors, as their Meet Our Board section prints them: chamber office, job title and employer. Two of the eleven seats are held by the Australian and New Zealand trade commissioners, which is a fact about a chamber that began inside a trade commission.
